Twitter is rolling out a new feature that allows people to track the number of times someone has viewed their tweet. This was stated on Twitter by the owner of this social network, Elon Musk. US media CNN and Foxnews are currently reporting that under Twitter’s former leadership, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) received more than $3.4 million (78 million Czech crowns) in compensation for processing of requests from this agency.

The new feature is another change that Twitter will introduce from the end of October, when Musk bought the company of the same name for 44 billion dollars (about 1.1 trillion CZK). Others include the introduction of the paid Twitter Blue service or significant changes to content moderation rules.
These are the ones that have become the subject of intense criticism due to fears that more objectionable posts will appear on this network. Musk, who describes himself as an outspoken advocate of free speech, but claims he wants to make Twitter a freer social network. He criticized his previous leadership because, in his view of him, he was not.
Most recently, he was accused of charging the government millions of dollars for censoring public information. And according to CNN, Musk is once again misleading the public with this statement. According to him, Twitter only received money from the FBI as compensation for processing some of its requests, just as journalists sometimes have to pay the authorities for processing their requests.
The FBI, which has sent requests to Twitter to look into user accounts that may be violating the rules, also said it will only be reimbursed for the reasonable costs and expenses associated with Twitter’s response to its requests. The FBI does the same thing with other companies.
