Mental Losses After the Pandemic.
Home schooling, lack of contact with friends, concerns about their own health and that of their parents and grandparents: the corona pandemic has put a heavy strain on children and young people in particular. To offer support to affected children and young people, the federal government launched in March 2022 the “Healthy Exit of the Crisis” project and supported it with 13 million euros. Allows low-threshold access to psychological and psychotherapeutic counseling and treatment.
Depression and Anxiety.
In the first year of the pandemic alone, the World Health Organization recorded a 25% increase in cases of anxiety and depression worldwide. The Corona pandemic has placed a huge burden, especially on children and young people. The war in Ukraine, insecurity in energy supplies, massive price increases and fears of social decline are overwhelming many young people. “We can continue to provide affected children and young people with the help they urgently need in the coming year,” said Health and Social Affairs Minister Johannes Rauch.
